Introduction Procedures Random Values
Learning Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Discuss the course content and structure
- Understand homework expectations
- Set up account and begin using the class sketch site
- Begin exploring the value of a daily sketching routine
- Begin discussing the role of procedural generation in creative work
- See examples of procedurally generated form in a variety of media
Students will also be able to:
- Discuss the role of chance in art-making
- Demonstrate how chances combine

- Compare dice and decks as sources of random values
- Select and implement appropriate strategies for randomization
- Identify types random biases
- Summarize what pseudorandom values are
- Demonstrate a simple pseudorandom value generator
